Terms of Service

The plain-spoken agreement for using TimeTaps, the free app and the optional Pro upgrade.

Effective June 7, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the developer of TimeTaps ("we", "us", or "the developer") regarding your use of the TimeTaps app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch ("the app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

We have tried to keep this readable. TimeTaps is a focus and planning tool built for people with ADHD, time blindness, and burnout, so we want the rules to be clear, not buried in legal fog. Nothing here replaces your separate Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is handled.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using TimeTaps, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms apply to every version and feature of the app, including the free core app and any optional paid features.

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement and to hold an Apple ID under Apple's terms in your region. If you are using the app on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for them.

Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Where Apple's terms govern your transaction with the App Store, those terms apply alongside these.

2. License to use the app

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use one copy of the app on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.

This license does not give you the right to:

  • Copy, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute the app or any part of it.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works from the app.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is not permitted by applicable law.
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.

All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by the developer. This license continues until terminated as described in the Termination section.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

The core TimeTaps app is free and stays free. The Pro unlock lives inside the free app and is optional. You never have to pay to use the visual timer, focus sprints, planner, guided breaks, streaks, the hamster companion, focus insights, widgets, or the Apple Watch app.

Pro plans and prices

Plan Price Free trial Renewal
MonthlyBilled every month $4.99 per month No trial Auto-renews monthly
AnnualAbout $2.08 per month $24.99 per year 14-day free trial (annual only) Auto-renews yearly
LifetimeOne-time purchase $59.99 once No trial Does not renew

Free trial

The 14-day free trial is available with the annual plan only. The monthly and lifetime options do not include a trial. When your trial period ends, it will automatically convert to a paid annual subscription and your payment method will be charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You can cancel during the trial at no charge.

Auto-renewal and cancellation

The monthly and annual plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. Each subscription automatically renews at the then-current price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your payment method is charged at confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings: open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions, and select TimeTaps. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for. The lifetime option is a single purchase and does not renew.

Price changes and regional pricing

Prices are shown in US dollars and may vary by region, currency, and applicable taxes. The price displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase is the source of truth. If we change a subscription price, existing subscribers are grandfathered on the price they signed up at, in line with App Store policy and your right to be notified of any increase before it applies.

How payment works

All purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and billed to your Apple ID. We never receive or store your payment card information. Your purchase confirmation, receipt, and billing history are available in your App Store account.

4. Offer and gift codes

From time to time, you may receive an offer code, gift code, or loyalty code that unlocks Pro or grants a promotional benefit. You can redeem a code inside the app: go to Settings, then Redeem a Code, and enter the code there.

Codes may have an expiration date, may be limited to certain plans or regions, and have no cash value. Codes cannot be exchanged, resold, or transferred unless we say otherwise, and any benefit a code provides is subject to these Terms.

5. Refunds

Because all purchases are processed by Apple, refunds are also handled by Apple under the App Store refund policy. We are not able to issue refunds directly and do not have access to your payment details.

To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the TimeTaps purchase, and follow the steps to request a refund. Whether a refund is granted is decided by Apple, not by us.

Tip If something went wrong with the app, reach out to us at support@timetapapp.com first. We are often able to help directly, and we want the app to work for you.

6. Acceptable use

When using TimeTaps, you agree that you will not:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app, except where permitted by law.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, its features, or any systems or networks connected to it.
  • Circumvent, disable, or tamper with any security, licensing, or in-app purchase mechanism, or attempt to access Pro features without a valid purchase.
  • Use automated means to copy, scrape, or extract content or data from the app.
  • Misuse the app in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it, or harm other users.

We may suspend or end your access to the app, or to specific features, if you breach these Terms or use the app in a way that creates risk or legal exposure for us or others.

7. Medical disclaimer

TimeTaps is designed by a licensed therapist, but the app itself is a productivity and focus tool. It is not medical care, therapy, or a clinical service, and using it does not create a therapist-client or any other professional relationship.

Important TimeTaps is a productivity tool and is not a substitute for medical care or professional mental health treatment. The app does not diagnose, treat, or provide advice for any medical or psychological condition. Always seek the guidance of a qualified health provider with any questions about your health. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or, in the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Any insights, reminders, streaks, or suggestions the app provides are for general motivation and organization only. You are responsible for your own decisions about your time, health, and care.

8. AI features and third-party providers

Some Pro features, such as AI Task Breakdown, use artificial intelligence to turn a large task into smaller steps. These features are private and user-initiated: nothing is sent for AI processing unless you choose to use them.

How AI runs

  • On a supported device with Apple Intelligence (iOS 26 or later on an Apple Intelligence capable device), AI runs fully on-device. No API key is needed and nothing leaves your device for these requests.
  • On other devices, you may bring your own API key from a provider you choose (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). When you do, your request goes directly from your device to that provider using your key. It never passes through TimeTaps servers.

Your responsibilities

If you use a bring-your-own-key provider, you are responsible for your own API key, for keeping it secure, and for any usage costs or fees that provider charges. Your use of that provider is governed by the provider's own terms and privacy policy, and you agree to comply with them.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. You should review any AI-generated steps or suggestions before relying on them. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or availability of any AI feature or third-party provider.

9. Intellectual property

The app, the TimeTaps name, the hamster companion, the visual design, the artwork, the text, and all related content and software are owned by the developer or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

These Terms grant you a license to use the app, not ownership of it. Your own content, such as the tasks, notes, and plans you create, remains yours. We do not claim ownership of the data you enter, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond running the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Third-party services

The app works with services provided by others. These include:

  • Apple. The App Store, StoreKit purchases, iCloud sync (CloudKit), EventKit for Calendar and Reminders, HealthKit, and Apple Intelligence are provided by Apple under Apple's own terms.
  • Your chosen AI provider. If you bring your own API key, your use of that provider is governed by the provider's terms and privacy policy.

We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, content, terms, or practices. Your use of them is between you and the relevant provider.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free of bugs, or that any defects will be corrected. You use the app at your own discretion and risk, and you are responsible for any results from your use of it. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the app or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have not made any purchase, will be limited to a reasonable remedy such as repair or replacement, or termination of these Terms. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

13. Changes to the app and these terms

We are always improving TimeTaps. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes when we can.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will make a reasonable effort to let you know, for example through the app or this website. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a change, please stop using the app.

14. Termination

You may stop using the app and end this agreement at any time by deleting the app from your devices. If you have an active subscription, remember to cancel it through your App Store account so it does not renew.

We may suspend or terminate your license and access to the app if you breach these Terms or use the app in a way that is unlawful or harmful. On termination, the license granted to you ends and you must stop using the app. Sections that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, will continue to apply.

15. Governing law

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the app, are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country or region of residence, which always apply.

The operator of TimeTaps may specify the governing jurisdiction and the venue for resolving disputes. Until then, the parties will work in good faith to resolve any dispute, and you agree that any claim relating to the App Store transaction may also be subject to Apple's applicable terms.
