Built by a therapist, for ADHD.
TimeTaps started with a simple frustration: most productivity apps assume a brain that ADHD folks do not have. This one was made to fit the brain you actually have, by someone who sits with that struggle every week.
Why TimeTaps exists.
Casey Simon is a licensed therapist who works with ADHD clients, and the same thing kept coming up in session after session. People would download yet another productivity app, feel a spark of hope, and then quietly stop using it a week later. Not because they did not care, but because the app was built for a brain that runs on willpower and tidy checklists. ADHD does not work that way, and pretending otherwise just piles on shame.
Time blindness is real. When you cannot feel time passing, a plain clock is useless: it shows numbers, not the sense of an afternoon slipping away. So TimeTaps was built to make time visible. The visual timer turns minutes into motion you can watch. Focus Sprints break work into doable pieces with real breaks in between. And every step forward earns a little celebration, because progress should feel good, not like a test you are failing.
The whole point is to reward momentum instead of punishing slips. Miss a day? A Streak Shield bridges it, so one off-day never wipes out your effort. Finish a sprint? Your hamster companion is genuinely happy for you. None of this is a gimmick. It is the same encouragement-over-pressure approach Casey uses in the therapy room, turned into a tool you can keep in your pocket.
The principles behind every screen.
A few beliefs shape every decision in TimeTaps, from the timer animation to the words it uses.
Encouragement over pressure
Streaks, carrots, and a cheerful companion reward what you do, not what you miss. Motivation should feel warm, never like a deadline breathing down your neck.
Warmth over clinical distance
The copy talks to you like a person, not a productivity machine. No scolding, no jargon, just friendly nudges from a tool built by someone who actually listens for a living.
Privacy by default
No account, no ads, no trackers, and no server reading your data. Your focus, your moods, and your plans stay on your device and, only if you choose, inside your own iCloud.
Designed with ADHD, not against it
Adjustable sprints, gentle break reminders, and time made tangible all start from how ADHD brains really work. We bend the tool to fit you, not the other way around.
How TimeTaps is different.
Plenty of apps promise focus and then bury you in streak-shaming, ad banners, and data collection. TimeTaps takes the opposite stance on purpose. It is the productivity tool a clinician would actually feel good handing to a client: simple, kind, and quietly respectful of your attention and your privacy.
What TimeTaps is not.
Being upfront matters. Here is what TimeTaps will never try to be, on purpose.
-
Not a replacement for careIt is a productivity tool, not a substitute for medical care or therapy. It works best alongside the support you already have.
-
Not an AI therapistThe optional AI breaks tasks into steps. It does not give therapy advice, diagnoses, or clinical conclusions, ever.
-
Not a social feedThere is no comparison, no leaderboard, and no pressure to keep up with anyone else. The only progress that matters here is your own.
-
Not a data businessYour information is never sold and never processed on a server. There is no advertising identifier and no third-party tracking.
